Surgical Treatment of Atherosclerotic Aneurysm of the Superficial Femoral Artery: Case Report

Özet

Yüzeyel femoral arterde izole gerçek anevrizmalar oldukça nadir görülürler. Yetmiş altı yaşında erkek hastada sağ yüzeyel femoral arterde izole aterosklerotik anevrizma saptandı. Cerrahi tedavi olarak anevrizma rezeksiyonu ve politetrafloroetilen tüp greft interpozisyonu yapıldı. Yüzel femoral arter yerleşimli aterosklerotik anevrizmaların tanısı asemptomatik erken evrede zordur. Tanı konulduğunda, rüptür ya da distal iskemi gibi komplikasyonlar gelişmeden erken cerrahi tedavi uygulanması, iyi bir prognoz sağlar.

Abstract

Isolated true aneurysms of the superficial femoral artery are rarely seen. In a 76-year-old man, isolated atherosclerotic aneurysm of the right superficial femoral artery was determined. Resection of the aneurysm and polytetrafluoroethene tube graft interposition were made as the surgical treatment. Diagnosis of atherosclerotic aneurysms located in superficial femoral artery is difficult in the asymptomatic early stages. When diagnosed, early surgical treatment may provide a good prognosis before development of complications such as rupture or distal ischemia.
