Özet

Hastamıza 1974 yılında dört yaşında iken transpoze tip çift çıkımlı sağ ventrikül ve tam düzeltmeye uygun olmayan hipoplastik pulmoner arterler tanısı ile sol Blalock-Taussig şant ameliyatı yapılmıştır. 1978 yılında yeni çalışmalar yapılan vakamıza basit transpozisyon tanısı konularak ve pulmoner damarlar da şant nedeniyle yeterli genişlik kazandığı için Mustard ameliyatı uygulanmıştır. Ondokuz yıldır sorunsuz yaşayan vakamızı takdim etmemizin nedeni yaptığımız araştırmalara göre ülkemizde Mustard ameliyatı yapılıp yaşayan en eski vaka oluşudur.

Abstract

We describe a case who presented in 1974 at the age of four years with a diagnosis of "transposed type double outlet right ventricule with hypoplastic pulmonary arteries not suitable for total correction". This diagnosis had been established following investigative studies and a left Blalock-Taussing shunt operation had been performed. In 1978, the status of the pulmonary arteries was evaluated again and a diagnosis of "simple transposition of great arteries" was made. Because the pulmonary arteries were sufficiently dilated following the prior shunt, the patient underwent the Mustard procedure. Our patient has survived for 19 years following the operation, and has led a normal life without complications. To our knowledge, he is one of the earliest case to survive after the Mustard procedure in Turkey, for which reason we present this case.
