Politelya: Üç vakanın takdimi

Özet

Politelya memenin seyrek görülen konjenital malformasyonlarından biri olup sadece meme başının (nipple) bulunduğu durumu ifade eder. Kozmetik nedenler dışında klinik yakınmaya neden olmaz. Ancak politelyanın bazı ürolojik malformasyonlarla ve ürogenital malignansilerle beraberliği gösterilmiştir. Bu nedenle politelya saptanan hastaların ayrıntılı olarak değerlendirilmesi önerilmektedir. Bu makalede politelya saptanan üç vaka sunularak okuyucuların dikkati klinik olarak sorun yaratmayan, ancak malformasyon ve malignansilerin belirleyicisi kabul edilen bu antiteye çekilmek istenmiştir.

Abstract

Polythelia is one of the developmental anomalies of breast tissue. It refers to supernumerary breast tissue in which only the nipple is present. Polythelia does not in itself pose diagnostic or symptomatic problems, but evidence suggests that it is a marker for associated conditions, most notably urologic malformations or ürogenital malignancies. Careful attention should be given to evaluation of any person in whom this anomaly is found. In this article three children with polythelia are presented. The purpose of this article is to attract attention to this anomaly which does not in itself pose problems but may be a marker for malformations or malignancies.
