Özet

Bu çalışma, Adana il merkezinde sokakta çalışan 9-16 yaş grubu çocukların ailede ve sokakta yaşadıkları sorunlarının incelenmesi amacıyla, sokakta çalışan 100 erkek çocuk ile birebir görüşülerek yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre, çocukların %38.0'inin on bir-on iki yaş aralığında olduğu, %82.0'sinin annesinin okuma-yazma bilmediği, babaların %20.0'sinin işsiz ve %43.0'ünün seyyar satıcı olduğu, %52.0'sinin 5-7 kardeşe sahip olduğu, %36.0'sının sokakta 2-3 yıldır çalıştığı, çocukların %56.0'sının boyacılık yaptığı, sokakta yaptıkları işleri bulmalarında %55,0'ine arkadaşlarının yardımcı olduğu, %27.0'sinin ailelerinden onları okula göndermelerini istediği, %66.0'sının sokakta çalışan diğer çocuklar tarafından şiddete maruz kaldıkları, %54.0'ünün baba dayağı sonucu yaralandığı, %72.0'sinin babası tarafından sopa ile veya başka şeyle dövüldüğü, çocukların %77.0'sinin babalarının isteği ile aileye yardım için çalıştığı, %70.0'inin babasının çocuğun temel ihtiyaçları dışında ihtiyaçlarını karşılamadıkları görülmektedir. Araştırma sonuçları, sokakta çalışan çocukların sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi düşük ve çocuk sayısı fazla olan kalabalık ailelerden geldiği, ekonomik nedenlerin çocukları sokakta çalışmaya yönelttiği, aile içinde ve sokakta çocukların şiddete maruz kaldıklarını göstermektedir.

Abstract

This study was carried out in Adana to investigate the problems with the children between 9 and W years old, working in the streets encounter in the family and their working environment. The study was done by interviewing 100 boys individually. The research revealed that %38.0 of the children are 11-12 years old; %82.0 of the children's mothers are not literate; %20.0 of the children's fathers are unemployed; %43.0 of the children's fathers are street workers; %52.0 of the children has 5 to 7 siblings; %36.0 of the children has worked on the street for 2-3 years; %56.0 of the children are shoeblack; %55.0 of the children found their job through the assistance of their friends; %27.0 of the children want to be sent to school by their families; %66.0 of the children is exposed to violence by other working children on the street; %54.0 of the children has been injured caused by their father's beating; %72.0 of the children was beaten with a stick or other things; %77.0 of the children is working on the street in order to provide financial help to their family; %70.0 of the children's father provides their children only with basic needs. The overall results of the research showed that the families of the children working on the streets have a lot of children and their socio-economic level is low; and that the main reason for the children's working on the streets is economic and those children are exposed to violence both in the family and on the streets
