Sklerozan mezenteritis (Olgu sunumu)

Abstract

Here, we report a case of sclerosing mesenteritis originated from small and large intestinal mesentery which caused abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. The patient underwent to laparotomy with the diagnosis of colon carcinoma. It was thought as inoperable during exploration and multiple incisional biopsies were taken from the mass and feeding jejunostomy was performed. Medical treatment was initiated in postoperative period. According to dominant features this disease may be divided into a spectrum of mesenteric lipodystrophy, mesenteric panniculitis, and sderosing mesenteritis. The most useful laboratory methods for the diagnosis of the disease are radiological investigations. Due to its self limiting nature, surgical indication is limited for the ileus.
