Abstract

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Celiac disease (CD) has been reported to be associated with chronic gastritis and immunological disorders. The aim of the study was to determine the association between Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection and CD in children. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Two hundred and two patients with CD aged from 6 months to 17 years (mean: 7.12±4.64), and 209 age- and sex- matched children without CD were screened for H. pylori infection.
