(p0.05). Preparasyon metotları birbirleri ile karşılaştırıldığında yalnızca, riva self cure materyalinde anlamlı bir fark gözlenmiştir. Riva Self Cure grubunda frezle prepare edilen örneklerde lazerle prepare edilenlere göre daha az mikrosızıntı gözlenmiştir (p
Abstract
Background and Aim: Cavity preparation with lasers mightprovide an ideal surface for bonding, however there is notenough data about the microleakage of novel glass ionomercements to laser irradiated dentin. The aim of the study wasto evaluate the effect of laser preparation on microleakage ofdifferent glass ionomer-based materials used in root surfacecavities.Materials and Methods: Thirty-six extracted sound humanthird molars were used for the study. The teeth were randomlydivided into two cavity preparation methods: Group I-bur, GroupII-Er, Cr-YSGG laser (n=18) and a total of seventy-two class 5cavities were prepared on both buccal and lingual root surfaces1mm below the cementoenamel junction. Each group was thenrandomly subdivided into three subgroups according to differentglass ionomer-based restorative materials; a) Riva Self Cure, b)Equia Forte and c) Zirconomer (n=12). The teeth were stored indistilled water for 24 hours and then subjected to microleakagetesting. The teeth were sectioned and microleakage scoreswere evaluated. The data were analyzed using Kruskal- Wallisand Mann-Whitney U tests (p0.05). When comparing cavity preparationmethods within each restorative material significant differenceswere observed only in Riva Self Cure group, which bur preparedcavities showed less microleakage (p
