SENIOR DENTAL STUDENTS’ VIEWS ABOUT TELEDENTISTRY AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN DENTAL EDUCATION DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Abstract

Background and Aims: The recent coronavirus outbreak has created an urgent demand to solve patients’ problems using non-traditional methods such as teledentistry. The present study aimed to assess the knowledge and attitudes of senior dental students about teledentistry during COVID-19 pandemic and understanding their considerations on the necessity of adopting teledentistry course into dental curriculum. Subjects and Methods: A total of 70 senior dental students participated in this cross-sectional study. The pretested and self-structured questionnaires were completed by the students before and after the seminar providing information about teledentistry and the data were collected using an online survey portal. Statistical analyses were performed with McNemar’s chi-square test and Bowker’s test for symmetry (∝
