Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea mimicking bronchial asthma: A case report

Özet

Trakeamn primer malign neoplazmları son derece nadirdir. Semptomların çoğu hava yolu obstrüksiyonu ile ilgilidir. Biz, tam konulmadan iki yıl önce mevcut semptomlar nedeniyle bronsiyal asthma zannedilerek tedavi edilen bir trakeal adenoid kistik karsinoma (AKK) vakasını takdim ettik. Tanı, bronkoskopik biyopsi ile konuldu. Hasta, cerrahi yolla tümöral kitlenin eksizyonu, tutulum gösteren 4 cm lik bir trakeal segment rezeksiyonu ve trakeotrakeal primer anastomozis ile başarılı şekilde tedavi edildi. Postoperatif dönemde komplikasyon gözlendi. Bu amaçla, trakeal yerleşim gösteren AKK'ların ayırıcı ve erken tanısı ile cerrahi tedavisinin önemi vurgulandı.

Abstract

Primary trachéal malign tumours are extremely rare.Most of symptoms due to obstruction of the airway. We presented a patient -with trachéal adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) -who had been treated with misdiagnosis of bronchial asthma because of the present symtoms two years before the current diagnosis. ACC was diagnosed by bronchoscopic biopsy. The patient was succesfully treated by surgical tumour excision, the resection of 4 cm of trachéal segment involved by tumour, and primary trachea -to- trachea anastomosis. Any postoperative complication was not observed . It was concluded that the differantial and early diagnosis of trachéal ACC s and their surgical treatment are important.
