Özet
Ünlü Yunan filozofu Eflâtun, sadece felsefe tarihinde değil, Türk edebiyat vetasavvuf tarihinde de önemli yer tutan, umumiyetle akıl ve bilgeliğin meşhur temsilcileriarasında sayılan bir şahsiyettir. Bununla birlikte şair ve yazarlarımızın asırlar boyumeydana getirdikleri manzum yahut mensur eserlerde rastlanan Eflâtun hakkındakitasavvur, anma ve bahisler, hep aynı manada olmayıp çeşitlilik gösterir. Bu çalışmadaönce, adı geçen filozofun Türk âlim, şair ve yazarları tarafından nasıl telâkki edildiği veanıldığı konusunda seçilen örnekler yoluyla bilgi verilmiş; giriş bölümünün ardındanbazı özlü sözleri konusunda meydana getirilmiş kısa bir mensur tercüme tanıtılıpsunulmuştur.19. asırda yaşamış Osmanlı âlimlerinden Mehmed Ali Fethî (1804- 1857),Eflâtunun İslâmî ve insanî bakımdan özlü bulduğu bazı öğütlerini, Terceme -iNesâyih- ı Eflâtûn- ı İlâhî adıyla Türkçeye çevirmiş; bu kitapçık mütercimin vefatındanyedi yıl sonra Arap harfleriyle bastırılıp yayımlanmıştır. Yazımızın asıl konusunu teşkileden bu bölümde ilkin mütercimin hayatı ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş; dahasonra onun söz konusu eseri hem yeni harflere aktarılan aslî hâli, hem de günümüzTürkçesine çevrilmiş şekliyle sunulmuştur.
Abstract
Famous Greek philosopher Plato is a figure who takes an important place notonly in the history of philosophy but also in Turkish literature and history of Islamicmysticism and regarded among popular representatives of mind and wisdom in general.Besides, recollections, references and assertions about Plato seen in either poetic orprose works which our poets and authors have produced for centuries are nothomogeneous; they vary. In this study, how the above -mentioned philosopher wasreceived by Turkish scholars, poets and authors will be analyzed by means of examplesselected; following the introduction part, a short prose translation produced aboutsome sayings of Plato was introduced and presented. The nineteenth century Ottoman scholar, Mehmed Ali Fethî (1804-1857)translated some advices of Plato which he found valuable in terms of Islamic andhumanistic aspects into Turkish under the name ofTerceme - i Nesâyih-ı Eflâtûn- ıİlâhî ; this booklet was printed and published with Arabic letters posthumuously. Inthis part which constitutes the main issue of our writing, information was given aboutlife and works of translator; then both the original form trans lated with new letters andthe form translated into today's Turkish of the said work were presented.
