Values of Honesty and Integrity in Kutadgu Bilig

This study aims to examine the couplets in the KutadguBilig written by Yusuf Has Hajib in terms of the values ofhonesty and integrity from the perspective of values education.The study has been conducted using documentanalysis and content analysis techniques in accordancewith the qualitative research methods. The work has beenexamined by determining the words on integrity, truthfulnessand being honest. It can be said that honesty andintegrity are one of the most important issues discussedthroughout the work. Based on the findings of this study,it can be said that the Kutadgu Bilig is extremely importantfor the values education, which has recently gainedimportance in education policies and it can be easily usedin values education.

Abstract

Bu çalışma Yusuf Has Hacip tarafından kaleme alınan Kutadgu Bilig’te yer alan doğruluk ve dürüstlük ile ilgili beyitleri değer eğitimi perspektifinde incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma nitel araştırma tekniklerinden doküman analizi ve içerik analizi teknikleri kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Eserde doğruluk, doğru sözlü olmak, doğru ve dürüst olmak ile ilgili sözler tespit edilerek incelenmiştir. Eserin bütünü incelendiğinde de en fazla önem verilen konuların başında doğruluk ve dürüstlüğün geldiği söylenebilir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulardan hareketle Kutadgu Bilig’in son dönemde eğitim politikalarında ağırlık kazandığı görülen değerler eğitimi adına son derece önemli olduğu ve değerler eğitiminde rahatlıkla kullanılabileceği söylenebilir.
