Abstract

Tarihi-i Moğul, namely the history of Mongolians, which was written byAbbâs İkbâl Âştiyânî in 1390, consists of nine sections. The fifth section ofthe work is devoted to İlkhanid emperor Hulagu Khan. The author starts in theMongolian period the domination Persia until Hulagu (618- 654 A.D.) and thendeals with the invasion of Baghdad and the collapse of The Abbasid Caliphate(from 655 to 656 A.D.).In our study, the section of the work, “the Politics of Hulagu Khan” underthe heading of “The Invasion of Baghdad and the Collapse of the Caliphate”was translated. This section informs us that Hulagu Khan attached importanceto public works and he was influenced by Christianity under the influence of hiswife Dokûz Hatûn, who was a member of Kerâit family.
