Abstract

There are two types of grapevine plant (bare roots and potted). The standard cutting length (30–35 cm) is used in the production of grafted plants. This standard type of grapevine plants is the most used in the world today. Grafted grape plants with high stem have been used because of different advantages and replacement plants in existing vineyards in recent years. In this study, the effects of cutting length on grafted grapevine plants with bare roots were investigated. The dormant cuttings of 5BB, 110R, 41B and Ramsey rootstocks were grouped by their length (35 cm, 55 cm and 75 cm), then scions of Narince cultivars were grafted at bench by omega grafting machine on 5BB, 110R, 41B and Ramsey rootstocks. The final take and first grade final take of bare root grafted saplings were evaluated. Final take ratios were ranged from 4% to (Ramsey, 75 cm) 45.2% (Ramsey, 35 cm). The ratios of first grade sapling were varied from 3% (Ramsey, 75 cm) to 34% (41B, 55 cm). The ratios of total were decreased with increasing in cutting length except for 41B. The best shoot and root growing of grafted plants were obtained from 35 cm and 55 cm cutting length, respectively. However, the best performance in 75 cm cutting application was obtained 5BB and 41B rootstock cuttings.
