Özet

"Laiklik" çağdaş demokrasilerin ön koşuludur. Batı, yaklaşık dört yüzyıl süren kanlı bir mücadeleden sonra laik devlet düzenine kavuşmuştur. Eski Yunancadaki "Laikus" sıfatından kaynağını alan "laiklik" anlayışı, bugünkü Batı'da "secularism" sözcüğü ile ifade edilmektedir. Laiklik, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluş felsefesinin bir yapı taşıdır .Devrim süresince ardışık aşamalar sonucunda gelişimini tamamlamıştır .Bugün dünyada, elli yedi Müslüman ülke içerisinde laik devlet düzenine sahip olan tek ülke Türkiye'dir. Ancak, uzunca bir süredir hem kavram, hem de uygulamalar aşındırılmaktadır. Laiklik yine bugün ülkemizde iç ve dış dinamiklerin tehdidi altındadır.

Abstract

"Secularism" is the pre condition of the contemporary democrasies. The western world, has reached a secular state reqularity after a bloody struggle which had lasted for about four hundred centuries. The understanding of secularism which rooted from the adjective of "Laikus" has been expressing with the concept of "secularism" in today's western world. "Secularism" is the basic edifice stone in the establishing philosophy of the Turkish Republic. It has completed its development at the end of the various phases during the revolution period. Turkey is the single country which has a secular state order among 57 Muslim countries in the world. But for a long time both the concept of secularism and the applications have been wearing and tearing. Again the secularism is under the threats of inner and outer dynamics today.
