KÜLTÜREL FAALİYETLERİ ÇERÇEVESİNDE OSMANLI DONANMA CEMİYETİ

Özet

Osmanlı tarihinde İkinci Meşrutiyet Dönemi, yoğun bir örgütlenme evresidir. LaleDevri’nden beri oluşan düşünsel ve siyasal birikim, yıkılmakta olan bir devletikurtarmaya dönük arayış ve çabalar ile birleşince çok sayıda dernek, cemiyet ve siyasiparti kuruldu. Bu dönemin etkili derneklerinden biri de Osmanlı DonanmaCemiyeti’dir. Osmanlı Donanma Cemiyeti, 19 Temmuz 1909’da, şahısların maddibağışları ile güçlü bir donanma vücuda getirmek amacıyla kuruldu. Cemiyet’in buamaçla gerçekleştirdiği birçok faaliyet arasında konser, tiyatro ve sinema gibisanatsal etkinlikler önemli yer tutmuştur. Araştırmamızda Osmanlı DonanmaCemiyeti’nin kültürel faaliyetleri arşiv belgeleri çerçevesinde incelenmiş, bazısonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Cemiyet’in kültürel faaliyetlerine farklı toplumsal katmanlarıngeniş katılımı/katkısı söz konusudur. Katılım yelpazesinde üst düzey yöneticiden incesaz heyeti çalgıcısına, kahveciden emekli subaya kadar çeşitli meslek mensuplarınıgörmek mümkündür. Söz konusu katkıları, her bir bireyin devleti kurtarmaya dönüksamimi çabası olarak değerlendirmek mümkündür. Dahası, Cemiyet’in kültürelfaaliyetlerinin, İkinci Meşrutiyet Dönemi’ni, ayırt edici özellikleri yönüyle, tasviretmekte işlevsel olduğu savunulabilir.

Abstract

In the Ottoman history, the Second Constitutional Period was an intensive stage of organization. As a result of intellectual and political accumulation since the Tulip Era combined with the search and efforts to save a collapsing state, many associations, societies and political parties were formed. One of the influential associations of this period was the Ottoman Naval Society. The Ottoman Naval Society was established on July 19, 1909 with the aim of bringing a strong navy into the body through financial donations of individuals. Art activities such as concerts, theater and cinema played an important role among many activities carried out by the Association for this purpose. In our research, the cultural activities of the Ottoman Naval Society were examined within the framework of archival documents and some conclusions were reached. There is a wide participation/contribution of different social strata to the cultural activities of the Society. In the range of participation, it is possible to see a variety of professionals from senior managers to fine instrumentalists, from coffeehouses to retired officers. These contributions can be seen as the sincere effort of each individual to save the state. Moreover, it can be argued that the cultural activities of the Society were functional in depicting the Second Constitutional Monarchy period in terms of its distinctive features.
