Özet

Amaç: Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Kliniği’ne başvuran gebeler arasında demir (Fe) preparatı kullanım sıklığını ve bu durumu etkileyen faktörleri saptamak. Materyal ve Metot: Tanımlayıcı olarak planlanan bu araştırma, 2002 Temmuz- Ekim aylarıda Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Kliniği’ne doğum amacıyla başvuran 154 kadın, geriye dönük olarak gebelik süresince Fe preparatı kullanma durumu ve sosyodemografik özellikleri sorgulanarak yapıldı. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 9.05 paket programında değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel analizler sırasında c2, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis, t-testi ve Mann Whitney-U testleri kullanıldı. Sonuçlar: Yaş ortalamasının 27.8±5.2 oldu¤u çalışma sonucunda kadınların %72.1’inin gebelik süresince Fe preparatı kullandığı, ancak Fe kullanma süresinin 3.0±1.8 ay olduğu görülmüştür. Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency of using iron supplementation during pregnancy in women who attended the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of a university hospital and also to evaluate factors influencing this situation. MATERIALS-METHODS: This descriptive study consisted of 154 women who attended Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of Medical Faculty of Yüzüncü Yıl University for delivery from July to October 2002. All women were asked about their history of iron supplementation during pregnancy and theirsocio-demographic characteristics. c2, ANOVA, Student t-test, Kruskal- Wallis and Mann Whitney-U test were used for statistics analysis. RESULTS: Mean age was 27.8±5.2 years and 72.1% of women were found to use iron supplementation during pregnancy. But duration of use was 3.0±1.8 months.
