Özet

Araştırmada, anne ve öğretmen görüşlerine göre okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden çocukların sosyal uyum ve becerilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Afyonkarahisar İl Millî Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı ilköğretim okullarının bünyesinde bulunan anasınıflarına devam eden normal gelişim gösteren 5-6 yaş çocukları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubuna, ilköğretim okulları arasından tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen dört ilköğretim okulu bünyesinde bulunan anasınıflarından toplam 110 çocuk dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada, “Genel Bilgi Formu” ve Işık (2007) tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyal Uyum ve Beceri Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Deneklerin ölçekten aldıkları puanlar normal dağılım sergilemediği için iki gruplu karşılaştırmalar non-parametrik ölçümlerden Mann Whitney U-Testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, anne görüşlerine göre okul öncesi eğitime devam süresi ile çocukların sosyal uyum ve uyumsuzluk puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı, öğretmen görüşlerine göre ise iki yıl ve daha fazla süredir okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden çocuklar lehine sosyal uyum puanları $(U_{A-O)}$= 1110,5, p

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the social adaptation and abilities of children attending to a preschool institution according to the views of their mothers and teachers. The population of the study was comprised of 5-6 year old children who were showing normal developmental characteristics and attending to preschool classes of elementary schools which were located in Afyonkarahisar and thereby affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. The sample for the study consisted of a total number of 110 children from those preschool classes of randomly selected four elementary schools amongst all the schools aforementioned. To gather data, “General Information Form” and “Social Adaptation and Ability Scale” which was developed by Işık (2007) were used. Since the scores did not show normal distribution, Mann Whitney U-Test was used in order to analyze the two group comparisons. The findings revealed that there was no significant difference between the duration of preschool education and the children’s social adaptation or dissonance scores according to their mothers’ views whereas according to the teachers’ views it was found out that there was a significant difference in social adaptation scores $(U_{A-O)}$= 1110,5, p
