THE EFFECTS OF P-O ETHICAL FIT, EXPECTED PAY AND CORPORATE IMAGE ON JOB CHOICE DECISION

Abstract

Our research extends the current recruiting relevant studiesby identifying how intrinsic (person-organization ethicalfit, P-O ethical fit) and extrinsic factors (pay level andperceived corporate image) influence job choice decisionsolely and interactively. A 2×2 between-subjectsexperimental design was conducted with 210 graduatingstudents in Taiwan, and written scenarios were used tosimulate a job choice setting. These scenario cases arerelated to hotels which focus on environmentally relativecorporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The resultsshow a significant difference in job offer acceptance ratesamong job seekers with diverse P-O ethical fit and theeffect of P-O ethical fit on perceived corporate image waspartially supported. The following discussion andsuggestion will be made to provide ideas for recruitingmanagement and it will also contribute to academicresearch.
