Unilateral Koronoid Proçes Hiperplazisi: Olgu Raporu

Özet

Mandibular koronoid proçes hiperplazisi, mandibulanın uzamışkoronoid proçesinin zigomatik kemiğe çarpması nedeniyleoluşan ağız açıklığının kısıtlılığının nadir nedenlerinden birisidir.Bu olgu sunumunda yüzde asimetrisi olan erkek hastanınbulguları sunulmaktadır. Erkek hasta, yüzde asimetri ve ağızaçıklığında kısıtlılık nedeniyle kliniğimize başvurdu. Hastanınortopantomografisinde sağ koronoid proçesin normalden dahauzun ve geniş olduğu izlendi. Unilateral koronoid hiperplazi öntanısı ile hastadan konik ışınlı bilgisayarlı tomografi (KIBT) çekildi.Koronoid hiperplazinin etiyopatogenezi kesin olmamakla birlikte;genetiğin, travmanın ve endokrin stimülasyonun etkili olduğudüşünülmektedir.

Abstract

Coronoid hyperplasia is one of the rare causes of limitation of mouth opening due to impingement of the elongated coronoid process of the mandible against the zygomatic bone. In this case report, the findings of a male patient with facial asymmetry are presented. Male patient was admitted to our clinic with facial asymmetry and limited mouth opening. Orthopantomography of the patient revealed that the right coronoid process was longer and wider than normal. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was taken from the patient with the preliminary diagnosis of unilateral coronoid hyperplasia. Although the etiopathogenesis of coronoid hyperplasia is unclear; genetic, trauma and endocrine stimulation are thought to be effective.
