Özet
Günümüzde, devletlerin mevcut zenginlik ve yoksulluk durumlarına, geçmişte yaşamış oldukları tecrübelerine ve bu tecrübelerin sonuçlarına duyulan ilgi artarak devam etmektedir. Tarihsel süreç içerisinde yaşanan bu tecrübeleri incelemek ve mevcut zenginlikleri açıklamak amacıyla coğrafya, kültür, cehalet ve sömürücü/kapsayıcı kurumlar hipotezi gibi bir takım hipotezler ileri sürülmüştür. Çalışmada, bu hipotezler kapsamında Osmanlı İmparatorluğunun yıkılışı hakkında yapılan açıklamalar ele alınmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Osmanlı İmparatorluğunun yıkılışını açıklamada, coğrafya hipotezinin barındırmış olduğu varsayımların, Osmanlı İmparatorluğunu inceleme olanağı vermemesinden dolayı değerlendirme dışı bırakılmış; geriye kalan hipotezlerden sömürücü/kapsayıcı kurumlar hipotezi ile cehalet hipotezi kapsamında yapılan değerlendirmelerin yerinde olduğu, ancak kültür hipotezinin söz konusu durumu açıklamada yetersiz olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.
Abstract
Today, the attention on wealthy and poverty of states and its historical experiance and result of the experiance is growing. It is claimed that some hypothesis such as geography, culture, ignorance and extractive and inclusive institutions account for investigate of this experience and existing wealthy in historical process. This study basically stay on the collapse of the Ottoman Empire with scope of these hypotheses. Consequently, the explanation of the collapse of Ottoman Empire in which geography hypothesis is excluded because of the no possibility of giving any research. It is favorable, however, that the hypothesis of the remainder which are extractive and inclusive institutions hypothesis and ignorance hypothesis that explain the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, however we can say that it has been found to be insufficient the statement of the culture hypothesis in terms of assessment about the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
