SOSYAL HİZMET BÖLÜMÜ İLE FİZİK TEDAVİ VE REHABİLİTASYON BÖLÜMÜ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN DUYGUSAL ZEKÂ DURUMLARININ KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

THE COMPARISION OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE STATES BETWEEN SOCIAL WORK AND PHYSICAL TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT STUDENTS

Özet

Bu araştırmada, Sosyal Hizmet Bölümünü seçen öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ durumlarını tespit etmek maksadıyla; Lefke Avrupa Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi bünyesinde bulunan Sosyal Hizmet (Sosyal Bilimler) ile Fizik Tedavi ve Rehabilitasyon (Fen Bilimleri) Bölümlerinde öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin duygusal zekâ (EQ) seviyelerinin belirlenerek alt boyutlar ve cinsiyet yönünden karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelinde ve tanımlayıcı bir çalışmadır. Bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, her iki bölümün 1.ve 2. sınıfında okuyan 104 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada, Reuven Bar-On (1997) tarafından geliştirilen ve Acar (2001) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan duygusal zekâ envanteri (EQ-i) kullanılmış olup ölçeğin Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı .92’dir. Araştırmada bağımsız örneklem t-testi kullanılmıştır. Her iki bölümde okuyan öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ puanlarının birbirine yakın olduğu, cinsiyet yönünden istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir farkın olmadığı; dört alt boyutta istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir farkın olmadığı; yalnızca uyumluluk alt boyutunda ve esneklik ile problem çözme detaylarında Sosyal Hizmet Bölümünde okuyan öğrenciler lehine istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir farkın olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the emotional intelligence of the students who choose Social Work Department, and compared in terms of the sub dimensions and in terms of gender between of state department of social work students (social sciences) and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation students (sciences). The research has been conducted in European University of Lefke with 104 students. Research is a general survey model and a descriptive study. The study group of this study consisted of 104 students studying in the first and second classes of both sections. In this research, EQ Inventory which was developed by Reuven Bar-On (1997) and adopted to be applied in Turkey by Acar (2001) was used and Cronbach Alfa was 0.92 (⍺ = .92). Statistical analyses independent t-test was used in the research. As a result, It was determined that the emotional intelligence scores of the students who read in both sections were close to each other and there was no statistically significant difference in terms of sex. In the same way, there was no statistically significant difference in four dimensions. Only statistically significant difference was found to be in compliance with the dimensions of flexibility and problem-solving in favor of the students who read in the Social Work Department.
