Abstract
In this study, the theoretical modeling of the solar collector that enables us to generate thermal energy from the sun has been made. Different nanofluids were obtained by adding nanoparticles (Cu, CuO, Al2 O3 , TiO2 , SiO2 ) in different concentration ratios to the water used as the main heat transfer fluid in the solar collector. The effects of using these nanofluids at different concentration ratios and different flow rates in solar collectors were investigated on the thermal and exergetic performance of the solar collector. With the use of nanofluid with 0.048 kg/s mass flow rate and Cu nanoparticle at a concentration of 0.04, it was determined that there was a decrease of 1.65% in the collector thermal efficiency and an increase of 1.59% in the exergy efficiency compared to the use of water as the heat transfer fluid. As a result of the theoretical analysis, it has been determined that adding nanoparticles to water, which is the main heat transfer fluid, decreases the thermal efficiency and entropy generation while increasing the exergy efficiency.
