Abstract
Polyglandular autoimmune syndrome (PAS), comprises a group of autoimmune disorders of the endocrine glands that results in failure of the glands to produce their hormones. It distinguishes two broad categories, type I and type II. An additional group, PAS type III, subsequently is described and characterized by autoimmune thyroid disease, insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (İDDM), pernicious anemia, vitiligo and other autoimmune disorders. PAS type III, is seen rarely and in contrast to PAS type I and II, it does not involve the adrenal cortex. Here we presented a patient with autoimmune thyroid disease and pernicious anemia (PAS type IHb) that we observed in our clinic.
