Effect of permeability-conductivity properties of fabrics on clothing thermal comfort

Özet

Geçmişten günümüze kadar giysinin insan hayatındaki yeri incelendiğinde, giysinin vücuda zararlı şartlardan korunmak için bir araç olmaktan çıkıp kişinin sosyal ve psikolojik yaşamını da etkileyen çok yönlü bir kavrama dönüştüğü görülür. Son yıllarda tüketicilerin giysi satın alırken göz önünde bulundurdukları kriterlere bakıldığında ise giysi konforunun ilk akla gelen özelliklerinden biri olduğu görülür. Konfor, vücudun giysiyle teması sonucu vücutta meydana gelen fizyolojik ve psikolojik değişimleri kapsayan duyusal konfor ve kumaş geçirgenlik-iletkenlik özelliklerinden yola çıkılarak giysinin vücudun termal dengesini sağlamadaki rolüyle ilgili olan termal konfor olmak üzere iki ana başlık altında incelenebilir. Bu çalışmada, kısaca genel konfor kavramına değinildikten sonra termal konfor özelliğini etkileyen kumaş özellikleri incelenmiştir.

Abstract

If the place of clothing in human life is investigated, it will be seen that clothing has changed from being a means used for protection to a wider concept affecting social and psychologicial life of human beings. Recently, comfort has become the most important clothing parameter that is taken into account by consumers. Comfort can be distinguished into two aspects: the first one is the skin sensational comfort concerning physiological and psychological changes in the body as a result of body-clothing contact and the second one is the thermal comfort including effects of fabric conductivity-permeability properties on thermoregulation of body. In this study, after a brief definition of comfort, fabric properties affecting clothing thermal comfort were investigated.
