Abstract

In this study, it was investigated the combustion properties of heaven wood (Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle) impregnated with different impregnation materials using for protection in an interior and exterior condition against harmful, abiotic and biotic effects. For this purpose, the experimental samples prepared from heaven wood were impregnated with Tanalith-CBC, boric acid, borax, mixture of boric acid + borax, Vascol-WR, Imersol-WR 2000, polyethlynglycole-400 and styrene, respectively, are widely using impreg nation materials according to principles of the ASTM-D-1413-76 standards. As a result of the tests,The boron compounds with vacuum process increased the fire reterdant of the heavenwood species growing in Turkey. It was observed that one of the vinil monomers Styrene and Vacsol-WR have showed the fire reterdant effect.
