Özet

HIV infeksiyonu, asemptomatik taşıyıcılıktan hayatı tehdit eden fırsatçı infeksiyonlara ve malignitelere dek uzanan geniş bir klinik yelpazeye sahiptir. HIV/AIDS olgularının üçte biri M. tuberculosis ile infektedir. HIV infeksiyonu; aktif tüberküloz riskini, tüberküloza bağlı mortaliteyi ve dirençli tüberküloz gelişme olasılığını arttırırken, tüberküloz da HIV replikasyonunu ve hastalığın ilerlemesini hızlandırır. Bu çalışmada, lenfoma olduğu düşünülen, ancak servikal lenfnodu örneğinde aside dirençli boyanan bakteri görülen ve jeneralize tüberküloz lenf adeniti tanısı konulan HIV infeksiyonlu bir hasta konu edilmektedir.

Abstract

HIV infection has a wide clinical spectrum from asymptomatic carriage to life threatening opportunistic infections. About one third ofHIV/AIDS patients are infected with M.tuberculosis. Tuberculosis accelerates the replication of the virus and the progression of the disease, while HIV infection accelerates the progression to active tuberculosis, increases mortality rate from tuberculosis and the possibility of developing resistant tuberculosis. A patient who was suspected of having lymphoma but was found to be HIV positive is the subject of this study. Acid fast stain of her cervical lymph node sample was positive and she was diagnosed as generalized tuberculous lymphadenitis with AIDS.
