Abstract
Murathan Mungan, best known for his identity as a poet, is an impor- tant figure in today’s Turkish literature with his novels, stories, selections, essays, screenplays and plays. With this work, firstly the opportunities of intertextuality and usage techniques were explained, and then the intertextual relations in Mungan’s “Kadırga” poetry were determined. During the examination, it has been observed that the poet has referred to intertextual use in the wide frame starting from the mythological and religious elements to the important works of Western and Turkish literature. Similarly, it has been pointed out that the discursive styles of different genres are carried to the work by intertextual techniques. The consistency of the thematic structure and the depth of the contents in the poem are usually achieved by pastiche and allusion technique, and it has been understood that in some places, other intertextual techniques are used to provide polyphony in language and style.
