AHMET MİTHAT EFENDİ’NİN “KIRKAMBAR” DERGİSİNDEKİ EĞİTİM İLE İLGİLİ GÖRÜŞLERİ

Özet

Eğitim, insanlık tarihinin ilk zamanlarından beri gelişerek ve değişerek gelen bir olgudur. Tarihin her döneminde insanlar gelecek nesilleri ve kendilerini eğit- mek için birçok yöntem belirlemiştir. Bunlardan biri de insanlara okuyarak bilgi verecek, onların görgü ve ufuklarını açacak dergilerdir. Kırkambar dergisi de bu amaçla ortaya çıkmış bir dergidir. Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin üç yıl boyunca çıkardığı bu dergide popüler bilgilerden eğitime kadar birçok konuda bilgi bulunmaktadır. Kırkambar, Ahmet Mithat’ın yazma, üretme ve öğretme amacıyla kaleme aldığı bir dergi olarak önem arz etmektedir. Ahmet Mithat’ın bu dergide ele aldığı bir- çok konudan biri de eğitim ve eğitimin nasıl olması gerektiğidir. Ona göre eğitim sistemleri net ve açık bir şekilde modern metotlarla yapılmalıdır. Bu çalışmada da Ahmet Mithat’ın düşündüğü ve Kırkambar’da okurlarına sunduğu eğitim ile ilgili fikirleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abstract

Education is a phenomenon that has evolved and changed from the early days of human history. In every period of history, people have come up with many ways to educate themselves as well as future generations. One of these is the journals which will inform them, enhance their manners and widen their horizons. Kırkambar journal was a journal that emerged for this purpose. Issued by Ahmet Mithat Efendi for three years, Kırkambar covered a great deal of information from popular topics to education. Kırkambar is a magazine that he wrote up for the purpose of writing, producing and teaching. One of the many subjects he covered was education and how it was supposed to be. To him, the system of education is to be practiced with modern met- hods in a clear and explicit way. The purpose of this article is to reveal the ideas that Ahmet Mithat had and presented to his readers on education in Kırkambar Journal.
