Abstract
Pınarbaşı granitoid cropping out together with Egrigöz, Koyunoba and Baklan granitoids along the northeastern border of the Menderes massif consists mainly of granite, porphyry monzonite and quartz-monzodiorite. The crosscutting relationships between these magmatic units with different textures and mineralogy show that granitoid emplaced into the region with multi-phase magmatic intrusions. Pınarbaşı granitoid is bordered by limestone to the northwest and ophiolitic mélange to the southeast and all of these units are also cut by normal and strike - slip fault systems. In the study area, three different types of mineralization were detected. These are Mo-Cu-Pb-Zn, Pb-Zn and Sb±Ag±Au mineralizations. The Mo-Cu-Pb-Zn mineralization is mainly related to the stockwork quartz veins cutting the porphyry monzonite and the NW, NE oriented quartz veins and also silicified zones along the fractures within the porphyry monzonite. The main ore minerals of the mineralization are molybdenite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite, galena and fahlerz group minerals and also the main alteration types are sericitization, argillitization and silicification. Furthermore, the Pb-Zn mineralization is related to the silicified zones along the fractures within limestone. The main ore minerals of this mineralization are galena, sphalerite, anglesite and cerussite. The Sb±Ag±Au mineralization is also related to the jasperoid and listwanites within the ophiolitic mélange in the region. Contact relationships, wall-, host- rock alterations, ore minerals and different types of mineralizations within the wall-rocks show that the mineralizations detected in the region have been evolved into two different stages. At the first stage, stockwork type Cu-Mo-Pb-Zn mineralization, relating to the monzonitic intrusion into the granite, and also argillitization and sericitization developed. On the other hand, at the second stage, Mo-Cu-Pb-Zn mineralization, relating to the quartz veins and also silicified zones which are parallel to the NW, NE oriented fractures, developed. Furthermore, pyrophyllite-, muscovite-, andalusite-, alunite-, diaspore-, apatite-, fluorite- and clay groups’ alteration envelopes, overprinting the early formed the alteration zones, along Mo - bearing quartz veins were described. It is also thought that the second stage mineralization played an important role in the evolution of Pb-Zn mineralization within limestone, and also Sb±Ag±Au mineralization within the jasperoids in the region.
