Abstract
Autism does not have one single reason only; it is a defect related to developing as a result of heterogeneous, biological and psychological causes. Autism was first defined by Kanner in 1943. According to Kanner early babyhood autism can appear in the first years of life and include serious defects regarding social relations and communication and extraordinary environmental reactions. Also, it is a kind of defect that can clearly be distincted from schizophrenia. Physical check-ups of the infants and babies done by the nurses can help to diagnose autism at an early stage. In the interviews with families it is important to consider the following measures: 1-Avoid creating a feeling of guiltiness in the family; 2- Supply them with an appropriate dose of hopes for the future; 3-Pay attention to individual differences and different development speeds of autistic children; 4-Educate the child considering his qualities; 5-Show the child's positive characteristics and his qualities. Increase the family's engagement in terms of working with their child. Try to reply to all the family's questions.
