Corection of the intertarsal joint luxation in a rooster by a polyester fibre suture

Özet
İki yaşında bir Denizli horozu şiddetli travmaya bağlı oluşan articulatio intertarsalis çıkığı şikayetiyle kliniğe getirildi. Detaylı incelemeler sonucunda lateral kollateral ligament ve eklem kapsulasında kopma ve yırtılma gözlendi. Kanatlı anesteziye alınarak aseptik şirurji için hazırlandı. Tabanca şeklinde bir el matkapı yardımıyla birisi tibiotarsus kemiğinin distalinde diğeri ise tarso-metatarsus kemiğinin proksimalinde ve horizontal yönde olmak üzere iki tünel açıldı. Eklem normal pozisyonunda iken polyester fiber iplik bu tünellerden geçirildi ve sıkı bir şekilde bağlandı. Kanatlı kısa zamanda iyileşme gösterdi. Operasyon sonrası cerrahi veya diğer herhangi bir komplikasyon görülmedi.
Abstract
A 2 year-old Denizli rooster was presented to the Veterinary Teaching Clinics suffering from left intertarsal joint luxation due to severe trauma. Close examination of the joint indicated that the lateral collateral ligament and joint capsule were ruptured and severed, respectively. The bird was anaesthetized and prepared for aseptic surgery. Two tunnels were horizontally created, one at the distal aspect of the tibiotarsus and the other at the proximal aspect of the tarsometarsus bones using a pistol-grip hand drill system. While the joint was in normal position, a polyester fibre suture was passed through the tunnels and was securely tightened. Site was closed with polyglactin 910. The bird showed great recovery. No surgical or other complications were observed, postoperativley.
