Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmada öğrencilerin en çok öğrenmekistedikleri sağlıkla ilgili konuları ve öğretmenlerinöğrencilere verilmesi gerektiğini düşündükleri sağlıkeğitimi konularını saptanmak amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Kesitsel tipte olan bu çalışmada, Bodrumİlçesinde bulunan ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerdeokuyan 3-12. sınıf öğrencileri araştırmanın evreninioluşturmaktadır. Örnek büyüklükleri hesaplanmış veöğrenci listelerine göre sistematik örneklem yöntemikullanılarak hangi öğrencilere ulaşılacağıbelirlenmiştir. Bulgular: İlkokul, ortaokul ve lise öğrencileriarasında merak edilen sağlık konularının başında"Kanser ve korunma önlemleri" yer almaktadır."Sağlık ve hastalık tanım ve kavramları" ilkokuldamerak edilmektedir. Ortaokul ve lise öğrencileri"kalp damar hastalıkları", "nörolojik hastalıklar" ve"ruh sağlığı ve hastalıkları" gibi daha klinikkavramları merak etmektedir. "İlkyardım" ilkokuldaen çok merak edilen ilk beş konu arasına girmezken,ortaokulda beşinci sırada, lisede ise ikinci sıradabulunmaktadır. Öğretmenler ise ilkyardımkonusunun ilkokul öğrencilerine verilmesi gerektiğinidüşünmektedir. Öğretmen ve öğrencilerin ortakolarak belirttiği tek konu "Bulaşıcı hastalıklar vebulaşma yolları" olmuştur. Sonuç: Toplum Sağlığı Merkez'ince öğrencilereverilecek eğitimlerde araştırma sonuçlarının dikkatealınması ve öğretmenlerle işbirliği yapılması uygunolacaktır. Ayrıca çalışma sonuçlarının ders kitaplarıyazarlarına, müfredat program geliştiricilerine veokullarda sağlık eğitimi verecek profesyonellere yolgösterici olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to determine thehealth topics that the students most want to learnand the subjects of health education, which theteachers think should be taught. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 3rd-12thgrades students of primary, secondary and highschools in Bodrum district constituted the universeof the research. The sample sizes were calculatedand the students that would be reached werechosen by using systematic sampling methodaccording to the student lists.Findings: "Cancer and prevention measures" was atthe top of the health topics that the primary,secondary and high school students have beencurious about. "Definition and concepts of healthand illness" were the subjects of curiosity in primaryschool. The secondary and high school studentswere interested in more clinical concepts such as"cardiovascular diseases", "neurological diseases" and"mental health and illnesses". While "first aid" wasnot among the top five subjects in primary school, itranked fifth in secondary school and second in highschool. However, the teachers thought that first aidshould be taught to primary school students. Theonly topic, commonly stated by both the teachersand the students, was "Infectious diseases andtransmission routes".Conclusion: It would be appropriate to take thefindings of the research into account and tocooperate with the teachers during the trainings tobe provided by Community Health Center forstudents. Besides, the results of the study could be aguide for the authors of the coursebooks, thecurriculum developers and the professionalsproviding health education in schools.
