Özet
Amaç: Çalışan gençler ile okuyan gençleri sosyodemografik özellikleri açısından değerlendirip fiziksel ve psikolojik sağlıkları açısından çalışan gençlerin okuyan gençlere göre ek risk faktörlerini belirlemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışma basit, kesitsel, tanımlayıcı bir anket çalışmasıdır. Çalışmanın örneklemi evreni bilinen örneklem hesaplama formülüyle hesaplandı. Çiğli ilçesi sınırları içerisinde yer alan İzmir Organize Sanayi Bölgesi Mesleki Eğitim Merkezi’nde eğitim gören 15-18 yaş aralığındaki en az 215 erkek öğrenci ile yapılması planlandı. Verilerin istatistiksel analizi SPSS 16.0 programı ile yapıldı. Bulgular: Araştırma; 284’ü (%65,9) çalışan ve 147’si (%34,1) okuyan olmak üzere toplam 431 kişi ile gerçekleştirildi. Her iki gurupta katılımcıların tamamının cinsiyeti erkekti. Çalışan çocukların %41,9’u, okuyan çocukların ise %21,8’i halen sigara kullanmaktaydı. Çalışan ve okuyan çocukların mevcut fiziksel yakınmaları sorgulandığında çalışanların %75,4’ ünün; okuyanların %32’ sinin mevcut fiziksel yakınmaları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tartışma: Sigara kullanımı gençlerin şimdiki ve gelecekteki sağlıklarına ciddi zarar veren ve önlenmesi gereken önemli bir sağlık sorunudur. Bu çalışmada çalışanların %41,9’ unun; okuyanların %21,8’inin halen sigara içtiği saptanmıştır. Çalışan çocukların yakınmaları, okuyan çocukların yakınmalarına göre istatiksel olarak anlamlı oranda yüksek saptandı. Bu çalışmada, çalışan ve okuyan çocuklara araştırmacılar tarafından fizik muayene yapıldı. Bu çalışmada elde edilen fizik muayene bulguları genel olarak literatürle uyumludur.
Abstract
Objective: The aim is to assess the situation of employed young people and others in education in terms of their socio-demographic characteristics and to determine additional risk factors that working young people face relative to those in education. Materials and Method: This is a simple, crosssectional and descriptive survey work. The sample of the survey was figured out of a known universe. The survey plan was to cover at least 215 male trainees in the age interval 15-18 attending the Vocational Training Centre of İzmir Organized Industrial Zone located in Çiğli district of İzmir. The SPSS 16.0 programme was used in the statistical analysis of data. Findings: The survey covered 431 persons in total 284 of whom (65.9%) are working and 147 are in education (34.1%). All participants in both groups are males. 41.9% of working children and 21.8% of students were smoking at the time of the survey. Asking if they have some complaints about their physical condition, 75.4% of working children and 32% of students responded that they had some problems in that respect. Discussion: Smoking is an important health problem harmful to the present and future health of young people and must be prevented. The survey found that 41.9% of working children and 21.8% of students were smokers. Complaints by working children were significantly higher than others in statistical terms. Researchers conducted physical examination of working children and others in education. Generally, the findings of these examinations are consistent with the relevant literature.
