Özet

Amaç: Toplumlarda yaygın kabul gören yanlış inanışlar, cinsel bilgisizlik ya da yanlış bilgilenme hatalı düşünce sisteminin oluşumuna yol açabilir. Cinsel mitleri onaylama yanlış bilgilenmenin en sık karşılaşılan göstergesidir. Bu araştırmada öğrencilerin cinsellikle ilgili yanlış inanışlara katılma durumlarını belirlemek, sınıf ve cinsiyet gibi sosyo-demografik özelliklerle ilişkisini ve cinsel mitlerin yaşam dönemlerinde ne ölçüde değiştiğinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmaya Uludağ Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksekokulunda okuyan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden birinci sınıfta eğitim gören 114 ve dördüncü sınıfta eğitim gören 71 gönüllü öğrenci dahil edilmiştir. Öğrencilere cinsel mit anketi uygulanmıştır. Bu bölüm kaynaklardan yararlanılarak hazırlanan yaygın olarak her iki cinsiyette de rastlanan 41 mitten oluşmaktadır . Çalışmamızda bütün mitlere farklı oranlarda katılım olduğu, bazı mitlere inanma oranının dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinde azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Farklı gruplarda yapılan çalışmalarda aktif cinsel yaşamın, üst sınıfta olmanın cinsel mitlere inanış oranını azaltmakla birlikte mitlere inanma oranının hala yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir.

Abstract

Aim: The wrong beliefs commonly accepted in societies, lack of sexual knowledge or misinformation might cause formation of defective thought system. Acceptance of the sexual myths is the most commonly encountered indicator of misinformation. This research aimed to identify the students’ agreement upon the wrong beliefs about sexuality, to evaluate its relationship with socio- demographic characteristics such as grade and gender and to assess the extent of the changes in sexual myths during their life cycles. Material and Method: The research sample included 114 grade 1 and 71 grade 4 students who were studying Uludağ University School of Health and volunteered to take part in the study. The sexual myth questionnaire was conducted on the students. This section consisted of 41 myths gathered by using several sources and which were commonly encountered among both genders. Our study demonstrated that there were different acceptance rates of all myths and for some of the myths, these rates decreased among grade 4 students. The studies performed among different groups showed that even though active sex life and being upper grade student decrease the rate of belief in myths, this rate was still high.
