Özet

Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik birinci sınıföğrencilerinin ilk klinik deneyimleri sırasındaalgıladığı stres ve strese verdikleri biyo-psiko-sosyalyanıt ile stresle başetme davranışlarını incelemekamacıyla yapıldı.Yöntem: Manisa Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi HemşirelikBölümü'ne kayıtlı, ilk kez klinik uygulamaya çıkan vearaştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 171 öğrenci ileyapılmış tanımlayıcı bir çalışmadır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %65.5'ikız, %37.4'ü 18 yaşında, %21.1'i normal lisemezunudur. Hemşirelik Öğrencileri İçin AlgılananStres Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması49.07±22.11'dir. Ölçeğin alt boyutlarındanöğrencilerin en çok stres yaşadıkları durumun6,13±2,75 puan ortalaması ile "Mesleki Bilgi veBeceri Eksikliğinden Kaynaklanan Stres" olduğubelirlendi. Hemşirelik Öğrencileri İçin Biyo-PsikoSosyal Cevap Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması18,49±14.52 olup, ölçeğin alt boyutlarından "SosyalDavranış Belirtileri" toplam puan ortalaması6,26±5,17, "Duygusal Belirtiler" toplam puanortalaması 7,57±5,95 ve "Fiziksel Belirtiler" toplampuan ortalaması ise 4,65±5,66'dır. HemşirelikÖğrencileri İçin Stresle baş etme davranışları ölçeğitoplam puanı 35,19±12,11 ve ölçeğin altboyutlarından en yüksek puan olan "Sorun Çözme"toplam puan ortalaması 14,53±5,65'dir.Sonuçlar: Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğrencilerinen çok stres yaşadıkları durumun mesleki bilgi vebeceri eksikliğinden kaynaklanan stres olduğu,yaşadıkları strese karşı güçlü biyo-psiko-sosyaldurum gösterdikleri ve stresle başetmede sorunçözme davranışını kullandıkları saptandı

Abstract

Aim: This study was conducted with the aim ofinvestigating perceived stress among the first-yearnursing students during their first clinical experience,their bio-psycho-social responses to stress and stresscoping behaviours.Method: This was a descriptive study performedamong 171 students enrolled in the NursingDepartment of Manisa Faculty of Health Sciences,who were carrying out clinical practice for the firsttime and who agreed to take part in the study. Findings: It was found that 65.5% of theparticipants were female, 37.4% were 18 years old,and 21.1% had graduated from regular highschools. The mean total score on Perceived StressScale for Nursing Students was 49.07±22.11. Thesub-dimension of the Scale, on which the studentsexperienced the most stress was “The Stress Arisingfrom the Deficiency of Professional Knowledge andSkills”, with a mean score of 6.13±2.75. The meantotal score on the Bio-Psycho-Social Response Scalefor Nursing Students was 18.49±14.52, with meantotal scores of 6.26±5.17, 7.57±5.95 and4.65±5.66 for the sub-dimensions “Indicators ofSocial Behaviour”, “Affective Indicators” and“Physical Indicators”, respectively. The mean totalscore for Stress Coping Behaviours Scale for NursingStudents was 35.19±12.11, and the sub-dimensionwith the highest score was “Problem Solving” with amean score of 14.53±5.65.Results: According to the results of the study, thestudents experienced the greatest stress fromdeficiencies in professional knowledge and skills;they displayed a strong bio-psycho-social responseto stress, and they used problem-solving behaviourto cope with stress
