Computer-aided conceptual design based on design catalogues

Özet

Kavramsal tasarım, bir tasarım probleminin fonksiyonel ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak çözüm kavramlarını içeren tasarım işlemindeki erken bir aşamadır. Bu makale, sistematik tasarım metodolojisine dayalı kavramsal tasarım konusunda yürütülen bir araştırma çalışmasını tanıtmaktadır. Tasarımcıya destek sağlayacak bir bilgisayar aracı geliştirilmiştir. Bu programı kullanarak tasarımcı bir tasarımın tüm fonksiyonunu tanımlayabilir. Arkasından program, tüm fonksiyona karşılık gelen bir fonksiyon yapısı oluşturmaktadır. Fonksiyon yapısı geliştirildikten sonra, alt fonksiyonları ve bunlara ait çözümler içeren bir morfolojik matris oluşturulur. Kullanıcı tarafından bu matristen çeşitli çözüm kavramlarının seçilmesi ile program, bunlara ait çizimleri oluşturur ve aralarından en iyisini seçer.

Abstract

Conceptual design is an early stage in the design process that includes the generation of solution concepts to satisfy the functional requirements of a design problem. This paper describes a research work conducted on the conceptual design based on systematic design methodology. A computational tool that provides support for the designer has been developed. Using this program a designer can specify the overall function of a design. Then the program can compose a function structure satisfying the requirements of overall function. Following the development of a function structure, a morphological matrix, which contains and lists solutions for sub-functions, is generated. After the selection of appropriate combinations of solutions from this matrix by the user, the program produces layout drawings of these solutions and evaluates them to select the best one.
