Abstract

Uranus 50 stainless steels are a group of duplex stainless steels with molybdenum addition that have been improved in recent years. In the literature, it has been reported that (with regard to use under service conditions) these steels are better than the other stainless steels, with a condition of application of suitable heat treatment processes. In this study, the improvement of mechanical properties of these alloys has been studied by precipitation hardening processes between 290-650 °C following quenching. The experimental results showed that these stainless steels have a good U-notch impact strength value in addition to high tensile strength and yield strength values. Intermetalic compounds that formed in the microstructure and corrosion resistance of these steels in sulfuric acid solution were investigated and the corrosion results were compared with CF 8 type austenitic cast stainless steel alloy.
