Hipotiroidi ve kondrokalsinosis

Özet

Bu çalışmada hipotiroidi (HT) ile kondrokalsinosis (KK) arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak amacıyla 22 HT'li olgu ve 20 kontrol karşılaştırıldı. Çalışmaya alınan tüm bireylerin radyolojik olarak bilateral diz, bilateral el ve el bileği ve pelvis grafileri ile biyokimyasal olarak serum demir, ürik asit, alkalen fosfataz ve kalsiyum düzeyleri değerlendirildi. KK prevalansi HT'li olgularda % 18, kontrollerde % 5 olarak saptandı ve yüzdeler arasındaki fark anlamlıydı. Sonuçta HT ve KK'in birbirine eşlik edebileceği kanısına varıldı.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between hypothyroidism (HT) and chondrocalcinosis (CC). We evaluated 22 patients with HT and 20 controls radiologically and biochemically. X-rays of the knees, wrists and pelvis were taken and serum calcium, uric acid, iron and alkaline phosphatases levels were recorded. The prevalence of CC was found to be 18 % amongst patients with HT and 5 % amongst the controls. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. In conclusion HT and CC are two diseases that may co-exit in patients.
