House-Brackmann evreleme sisteminin May ve Nottingham sistemleri ile karşılaştırılması

Özet
Bu çalışmada, fasial sinir fonksiyonlarının klinik olarak değerlendirilmesinde kullanılması önerilen üç sistemin karşılaştırılması amaçlandı. Çalışma grubuna idiopatik, unilateral fasial sinir paralizisi geçiren 17 hasta alındı. Her bir hastada fasial sinir fonksiyonları House-Brackmann, May ve Nottingham evrelendirme sistemleri kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Hastaların May ve Nottingham sistemlerinde aldıkları skorlar House-Brackmann sisteminde aldıkları skorlarla karşılaştırıldı. May sisteminin Nottingham sistemine göre House-Brackmann sistemi ile daha yüksek bir uyum gösterdiği izlendi.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare three grading systems which were proposed to use in clinical assessment of facial nerve functions. Seventeen patients presenting idiopathic, unilateral facial nerve paralysis were included in the study: Facial nerve function of each patient was evaluated using House-Brackmann, May and Nottingham grading systems respectively. The scores which the patients were given in May and Nottingham grading systems were compared to the scores given in House-Brackmann system. It was found that correlation of May system with House-Brackmann system was higher than correlation of Nottingham system with House-Brackmann system.
