Özet
Metotreksatla tedavi edilen romatoid artritli hastalarda görülen romatoid nodüller ilacın nadir yan etkilerindendir. Bu makalede metotreksat tedavisi sırasında, artriti iyi kontrol altındayken, el eklemlerinin ve sağ dirsek ekleminin ekstensor yüzünde subkutan nodul gelişen bir erkek hasta sunulmaktadır. Metotreksat dozunun azaltılması ve klorokin tedavisinin eklenmesiyle nodüllerin büyüklüğü ve sayısında gerileme olmuştur. Romatoid artritli hastaları metotreksatla tedavi eden hekimlerin ilacın bu ekstraartiküler yan etkisini göz önünde bulundurması vurgulanmaktadır.
Abstract
Rheumatoid nodulosis is a rare adverse event of methotrexate (MTX) therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We describe a man with seropositive RA who developed subcutaneous nodules on the extensor surface of hand joints and right elbow during MTX therapy while his arthritis remained under good control. The size and the number of the nodules were gradually regressed after the reduction of MTX dosage and addition of chloroquine therapy. Physicians treating patients with MTX for RA must be aware of this extraarticular side effect.
