Abstract

The assessment of rehabilitation outcomes in children with cerebral palsy (CP) is very difficult. In this study, our aim is to asses the rehabilitation outcomes in 53 children with CP who are hospitalised in our hospital. GMFM scale whose validity is tested and which proved to be reliable, is used to measure the motor functions of these children. Motor functions are evaluated by GMFM scale on their admission and before their discharge. The improvement in the motor functions during this period and whether this improvement can be determined by GMFM scale is investigated. Statistically significant difference is found between the admission GMFM scores and the GMFM scores at the discharge (p< 0.01). Chronological age and Denver Developmental age are discovered to be factors affected with GMFM scores. There is a Statistically significant difference between the GMFM scores of the ambulated and the nonambulated children (p< 0.05)
