FEMİNİST SANATTA ANNELİĞE PERFORMATİF YAKLAŞIMLAR

Özet

1960’lardan itibaren feminizm hareketleriyle birlikte gündeme gelen cinsiyet sorgulamaları feminist sanat pratiklerinin gelişmesine de olanak sağlamıştır. Özellikle 1970’li yıllarda kadınların kendi yaşam deneyimlerini gerek bedenleri, gerekse söylemleri üzerinden bir başkaldırı biçimi olarak sanat çalışmalarına yansıttıkları gözlemlenir. Günümüzde toplumsal cinsiyet tartışmaları kapsamında ön plana çıkan ve annelik statüsüyle birlikte mercek altına alınan kadın kimliği, çağdaş feminist sanatta performatif bir yol izleyerek geçmişte pasif olarak değerlendirilen anneyi aktif bir yapıya büründürür. Böylece, kendi annelik deneyimlerini çalışmalarının teması haline getiren sanatçılar, annelik kavramını performatif bir yaklaşımla yeniden sorgulamaktadırlar.

Abstract

Gender discussions which have come to the foreground along with the feminist movement since the 1960s have also allowed feminist art practices to develop. Especially in the 1970s, it is observed that women reflected their own life experiences through their bodies and discourses as a form of rebellion in their art works. Today, woman’s identity which has been explored with motherhood status within the context of gender considerations that feminist theories brought to the forefront, following a performative path in contemporary art, gives the mother, who was regarded as passive in the past, an active role. Thus, artists who make their mothering experiences the subject of their work re-question the concept of motherhood with a performative approach.
