TOPLUMSAL GERÇEKLİĞİN GÜNCEL SANATTA YENİDEN ÜRETİMİ

Özet

İnsanın inşa ettiği toplumsal gerçeklik içinde kurguladığı sanat kurumunun güncel örnekleri; 'gündelikçi', 'envanterci' (ya da 'etnografik') ve bunlara son yıllarda eklenen 'bilim'sel' tavır ile bu gerçekliği yeniden üretmektedir. Bunu örneklendirmek için son üç İstanbul Bienali'nde yer alan ve bunlara paralel etkinlik olarak gerçekleşen sergilerdeki bazı eserler seçilmiştir. İncelendiğinde görülür ki, güncel sanat, yeni bir önerme ortaya koyup mevcut gerçekliği değiştirmek yerine, gerçekliği daha da şiddetli biçimde onaylamaktadır. Sanatın, sürekli şikâyet edilen gerçekliğe alternatif bir önerme ortaya koyabilmesi için gerçekliğin değiştirilemezliği mazeretine sığınmaktan vazgeçip, özgür oluşu sahiplenmesi ve seçimlerinin sorumluluğunu üstüne alması gerekmektedir. Ama sanat, bu içdaralması yerine, mevcudu yeniden üretme mekanizmasının rahatlığına sığınmaktadır.

Abstract

The contemporary examples of the institution of art that is constructed within the social reality, which is constructed by human, reproduces this reality with 'day laborer', 'inventorion' (or 'ethnographer') and 'science'ific' attitudes, the latest one added to these. In order to give examples to these, some works from the last three Istanbul Biennials and the parallel activities took place to these Biennials have been selected. When analyzed, it will be clear that, contemporary art, rather than changing the existing reality by presenting new propositions, it approves the reality even more forcefully. In order for art to present a new alternative proposition to the reality, which is constantly being complaint about, it has to abandon the excuse of reality's being unchangeable, embrace being free and take responsibilities. But instead of this anguish, art takes shelter in the comfort of the mechanism of reproducing reality.
