THE REFLECTIONS OF TODAY’S TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS TO COSTUME DESIGN IN PERFORMING ARTS

Özet

İnsanlığın başlangıcından bu yana her çağ, kendine ait yaşamsal ve bilimsel bir dönüşüm ve değişim geçirmiştir. Teknoloji, bilim, sanat ve üretimde kullanılan araç gereçler ile koordineli olarak birleştirilen bilgi, özellikle uygulamalı alanlarda hayatı kolaylaştırmayı ve yenilikçi üretimi arttırmayı sağlamıştır. Günümüz dünyasının önemli faktörü olan tasarım da bilgi, bilim, teknoloji ile direkt ilişki içerisindedir. Yaşamın her alanında insanı çevreleyen tasarım olgusu sahne ve gösteri sanatlarının da vazgeçilmezidir. Sahne eserinin seyircinin imgelem dünyasında karşılığını bulmasını sağlayan kostüm de bir tasarım süreci sonucunda var edilir. Araştırma yapılırken kostümün tanımı, amacı ve teknolojik gelişmeler sonucu kostüm tasarımında kullanılabilecek materyallerin çeşitlerinin belirlenip ve bu materyallerin kullanıldığı kostümlerin sahne estetiği ile yoğrularak ne tür sonuçlar elde edildiğinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada sahne ve gösteri sanatlarında kullanılmak üzere tasarlanan kostümlerin günümüz teknolojik gelişmeleri doğrultusunda nasıl biçimlendiği, sahne üzerindeki esere nasıl bir katkı sağladığı yurtdışında yapılmış örnek çalışmaların görselleri üzerinden ele alınacaktır.

Abstract

Ever since the beginning of mankind every era has undergone a vital and scientific transformation and change. Coordinately combined with the tools used in technology, science, art and production, the knowledge has made it easier to enhance life and facilitate innovative production, especially in applied areas. Design that is one of the most important factors of today’s world is directly related to the knowledge, science, and technology. The design phenomenon that surrounds people in every aspect of life is indispensable for the performing arts as well. The costume, which allows the stage piece corresponds in audience’s imaginary world, is created as a result of a design processs. The purpose of the study was to determine the types of materials that could be used in the costume design and to evaluate the costumes with the stage aesthetics in which these materials were used and what kind of results were obtained. In this study, the way in which the costumes designed to be used in stage and performing arts are shaped in the direction of technological developments today and its contribution on the scene will be examined through examples of works done abroad.
