Özet
Bu makale Marcel Duchamp’ın Veriler: 1. Şelale, 2. Aydınlatıcı Gaz adlı eseri üzerine yapılmış bir incelemeyi kapsamaktadır. Veriler, Marcel Duchamp’ın veri olarak sunduğu ‘Şelale’ ve ‘Aydınlatıcı Gaz’ kavramlarının, hem sanat tarihsel süreç ile hem de sanatçının sanatsal deneyimleriyle bağlantıları kurulması aracılığıyla çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Kavramların değerlendirilmesini izleyen süreçte, eserin oluşumuna kaynaklık eden temel izlekler ve bunların Duchamp ile ilişkileri de değerlendirilerek Veriler hakkında öznel bir yargıya ulaşılmıştır.
Abstract
This article includes a review of Marcel Duchamp’s Given: 1. The Waterfall, 2. The Illuminating Gas. ‘Given’ tried to solve the concepts of ‘Waterfall’ and ‘Illuminating Gas’, which Marcel Duchamp presented as data, both in connection with the art historical process and with the artistic experiences of the artist. In the process of evaluating the concepts, a basic judgment about Given has been reached by evaluating the basic evidences that are the basis for the formation of the work and their relation with Duchamp.
