Özet

Yazı, mimari ile olan ilişkisinde bugün çoğunlukla bilgilendirici bir unsurdur. Yazı bu bilgilendirici işlevi dışında mimari üzerine eklendiğinde, yapının varoluşuna ilişkin yeni önermeler sunmakta ve o yapının insan zihinde, mekansal anlamda yeni deneyimlere açılmasına yardımcı olmaktadır. Mimariyi sanatla ilişki içine sokan yazının bu anlamda kullanımına dair örnekleri özellikle kavramsal kapı kitabelerinde görmek mümkündür. Kapının düşünsel anlamda pek çok kavramı açıklayıcı sembolik anlamları, kitabesinin dile getirdikleriyle birleşince kişiyi sadece fiziksel bir mekana değil, aynı zamanda zihinsel bir diyara doğru yola çıkarır. Özellikle yazı ile bezemenin yaygın olduğu kültürlerde, kapı üzerlerine yerleştirilen levhalarda ya da direk kapının süslemesi için kullanılan yazılarda çeşitli bilgilerin yanı sıra ayetler, dilekler, özlü sözler gibi kavramsal metinler bulunmaktadır. Geçmişte kavramsal kapı kitabelerinde rastlanılan mimari yazı ilişkisini bugün yazı ile çalışan kavramsal sanatçıların mekana özel ürettikleri çalışmalarda bulabilmek mümkündür. Çalışmanın amacı, kapı üzerine edebi ve manevi değeri yüksek kavramsal yazı yazma geleneğinin neredeyse ortadan kalktığına dikkat çekmek, mekan olarak kendine kapıyı seçmiş çağdaş, kavramsal sanat çalışmaları ile gelenek arasında bir ilişki kurulup kurulamayacağının olasılıklarını araştırmak ve bu olasılıklardan hareketle geleneğin geçirdiği dönüşümünün neler olabileceğini tartışmaya açmaktır.

Abstract

Today, the text is used as an informative element in architecture. When added to architecture apart from this informative function, it presents new proposals for the existence of the structure and it helps the mind to open it up to new experiences in spatial sense. The use of text in this sense with architecture can be seen especially in conceptual door inscriptions in te past.The door has many sembolic meanings in the intellectual sense.When these sembolic meanings unites with the conceptual text, the person gets in to the not only a physical place, but also a path towards a mental place. Especially in cultures where decorating with text are commen, on the plates placed on the door or on the door decorations, the texts containedconceptual texts such as verses, wishes and concise words as well as various information. This architecture and text relationship in the past, now can be seen in some conceptual and site specific art works. Thefore, of the tradition of door inscription coming from the past, can be said that it sheds light on today’s art.This study aims to, draw attention tothe fact that the tradition of writing high conceptual writing on the door literally and spritually has almost ceased to exist,to investigatethe possibilities of establishing a relationship between contemporary conceptual art works and tradition and it is open the to debate what might be the transormation of tradition through these possibilities.
