Thrombus in the Right Atrium after Closure of Atrial Septal Defect: A Rare Case Report

Özet

Atriyal septal defekt cerrahi girişim gerektiren en sık konjenital kardiyak anomalilerdendir. Atriyal septal defektin primer sütürasyonu son-rası sağ atriyumda trombüs nadir görülmektedir. Sağ atriyal trombüslerin yaklaşık %30-40’ı ölüme neden olabilmektedir. Pulmoner em-boli ile komplike olmayan sağ atriyal trombüsün tedavisinde medikal ve cerrahi tedavi yer almaktadır. Biz bu yazıda atriyal septal defekt cerrahisi sonrası sütür hattından köken alan sağ atriyal trombüs olgusunu sunmayı amaçladık.

Abstract

Atrial septal defect is among the most common congenital anomalies requiring surgical intervention. Thrombus is rarely seen in the right atrium after primary suture of repairs atrial septal defect. Approximately 30-40% of right atrial thrombi can cause death. Treatment of right atrial thrombus which is not complicated with pulmonary embolism involves medical and surgical treatment. In this study, we aimed to present a case with right atrial thrombus originating from the suture line after surgical repair of atrial septal defect.
