Özet
Evisserasyon sonrası orbita gelişiminin incelenmesi ve sefalometrik radyografinin bu inceleme¬deki yerini değerlendirmek amacı ile Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalında çeşitli yaşiarda bir gözleri evissere edilen hastalardan alınan posteroanterior sefalometrik radyogramlarda orbital bölge analizleri yapıldı. Toplam 25 hasta evisserasyon ya¬pılma yaşına göre üç gruba ayrıldı: Birinci grupta; ilk 3 yaş içinde evisserasyon uygulanan 6 ol¬gu, ikinci grupta, 4-15 yaş arası bir gözü evissere edilen 9 olgu; üçüncü grupta ise 16 yaş ve üze¬rinde bir gözü evissere edilen 10 olgu bulunuyordu. Orbita gelişimi posteroanterior sefalometrik radyogramlar üzerinde orbita girişi boyutsal ve alan ölçümleri yapılarak değerlendirildi. İlk 15 yaş, özellikle ilk üç yaş içinde evisserasyon uyguianımmın orbitada belirgin gelişme geriliğine neden olduğu, 16 yaş üzeri evisserasyon uygulanmasının belirgin bir geriliğe yol açmadığı be¬lirlendi. Sonuçta; göz küresinin püberteye değin orbitanın gelişmesinde etkili olduğu ve sefalometrik radyografinin orbita gelişimi değerlendirilmesinde objektif ve kantitatif ölçümler a-maçıyla kullanılabileceği kanılarına varıldı.
Abstract
Evaluation Of Orbital Growth Following Evisceration Via Cephalometric Radiography In order to examine the orbital development after evisceration and to evaluate the importance of cephalometric radiography in this examination, the orbital region analysis of the patients who had had their eye eviscerated at different ages at the Ophthalmology Department of Hacettepe University were undertaken via posteroanterior cephalometric radiographs. A total of 25 patients was divided into three groups according to the age of evisceration. There were 6 patients in the first group whose eyes were eviscerated in the first three years of life, 9 patients in the second group to whom evisceration was undertaken between the forth and 15th years and 10 patients in the group 3 who had had their eye eviscerated after 16 years-old. Orbital development was evaluated by measuring the dimensions and area of the orbital entrance on the posteroanterior. cephalometric radiographs. There was a significant decrease in the growth of the orbit after evisceration of the eye before the age of 15 years especially in the first three years of life. Evisceration of the eye after the age of 16 did not cause a significant orbital underdevelopment. We concluded that eye ball affects the orbital development till puberty and posteroanterior cephalometric radiography is intended to be a quantitative and objective method to evaluate it.
