Özet

84 menopoz sonrası, 50 menopoz öncesi kadın konjonktivasın-dan impresyon sitolojisi tekniği ile örnekler alındı ve bunlar Nelson yöntemi ile derecelendirildi. Sonuç olarak menopoz sonrası kadın¬larda menopoz öncesi döneme göre konjonktival metaplazi riskinin yüksek olduğu görüldü. Sitoloji sonuçlarının Schirmer testi sonuç¬lan ile ilşklli olmadığı saptanırken, gözyaşı kırılma zamanı ile ista¬tistik! ilişkili olduğu saptandı.

Abstract

Conjunctival cytologic materials were taken from 84 postmenopausal and 50 premenopausal women and speci¬mens were graded according to the technique described by Nelson. The risk of conjunctival metaplasia in postme¬nopausal patients was found to be greater than the pre-menapausal patients. The cytologic gradings were not statistically correlated with the Schirmer's test but found to be correlated with the tear break up time.
