Abstract

To evaluate the changes which occur after radial keratotomy surgery in anterior chamber depth and glob axial length in different degrees of myopia cases. Thirty eight eyes who have been done radial keratotomy surgery are taken to study group. Myopic eyes were divided into two groups, one of them was which contains 22 eyes that are under -5.00 D. myopia (1. group) and the other was which contains 16 eyes that are -5.00 D. and over -5.00 D. myopia (2. group). Routine examinations were done to all cases, also ultrasonic biometry and central anterior depth and axial length has been measured before operation, postoperative first day and second week. In preoperative measurements, the second groups anterior chamber depth and also globe axial length are statistically significant more than the first groups. When postoperative first day and second week measurements compared with preoperative measurements in the first group, there was a decrease in anterior chamber depth and globe axial length but significant difference was not found. In the second group, there was a decrease in axial length, but this is not a significant difference but at the anterior chamber depth was found significant decreases
